MS Quest
I created this board game as a solo project in my Spring 2022 Serious Games class in the Engineering Arts & Entertainment program at the University of Utah. It is a take on chutes and ladders and is a game focused on both health and empathy. I created everything, from the physical game board to the rules to the cards and activities of the game.
I created this game because my wife has Multiple Sclerosis, and there are very few game-based therapeutic approaches. I appreciated that this game could also serve a role in building empathy and understanding of the family, friends, and loved ones of those who have MS. Additionally, I chose to use the children’s game Chutes & Ladders because MS is a disease that can have relapses, and this game allowed me to demonstrate what those were like. The full game, rules, and instructions can be accessed here.
